Welcome

You shall go out in joy, and be led back in peace;
the mountains and hills before you shall burst into song,
And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. – Isaiah 55:12

Doesn’t that sound great??!!

Thank you for looking at the stoles in my shop.

My goal is to create stoles that you are proud to wear, ones that inspire you to – in the words of Isaiah – go out in joy and be led back in peace.

All of my stoles are handmade. My fabric stoles are made using fabrics I hand-dye myself using Procion MX dyes that are safe and color-fast. I make some stoles using recycled materials, including repurposed burlap coffee sack stoles. I also make stoles using duct tape, because let’s face it – sometimes ministry gets messy!

Because my stoles are handmade, they are one of a kind. However, I can often get close to re-creating a stole, so if you see a stole that you like, but you need it in different colors, or if the one you had your eye on is sold before you have time to buy it, send me an email and we can discuss options.

My stoles are made in my smoke-free, pet-free, solar-powered, joy-filled home in northern Vermont, where the mountains and hills burst into song, and where the trees of the field clap their hands, especially during maple sugaring season.

Payment

I accept payments via secure credit card direct checkout in US dollars. You do not need a PayPal account to pay for your items through PayPal, meaning that you can pay with your credit card, e-check, or PayPal account. After you submit your order, click the “Pay Now” button. Scroll down and you will see the option to pay with a Credit or Debit Card or e-check WITHOUT having to sign up for a PayPal account.

I will ship after your stole has been made AND payment has cleared.

If there is a discrepancy between the shipping addresses you provided and your PayPal account, or if for any reason the address seems misspelled or incomplete, I will email you to request clarification. To minimize the chance that your stole will not be shipped to you properly, I will wait to ship your order until confirmation of the address provided.

Liturgical stoles are categorized as clothing in the state of Vermont, so I do not collect sales tax, even for sales to Vermont addresses.

Shipping

Note that I currently only ship to US addresses. If you are outside the US, please contact me and I will look into whether I can ship to you.

I ship using USPS first class or Priority mail. I can usually ship faster if needed, so if you would like an item shipped faster, or if you need an expedited shipping option, please contact me before you make a purchase, and I will let you know the options and I will adjust shipping costs before you purchase (if needed).

I send every customer a confirmation email when I mail your purchase. I also track your order and will send you a follow up email acknowledging that I see the order arrived as expected.

I package different stoles differently depending on the style, but package all stoles attractively and in a manner that ensures that they will arrive safely. Each listing contains information and pictures on how the stole will be packaged.

Refunds and Exchanges

I want you to love your stole; I want my stoles to be the ones your hand gravitates toward on Sunday mornings as you robe (or that it is one that you are proud to give as a gift). I make each stole myself and strive to make sure that it is well-constructed. If you are not happy with your purchase for any reason, please kindly share your concerns within 30 days and give me an opportunity to make you happy again.

Additional Policies and FAQs

Each of my stoles is hand made, and I dye the cotton and cotton/hemp fabric used in my stoles. As such, minor variations and imperfections in the color are natural and to be expected. Duct tape stoles will generally have a few minor wrinkles or creases.

Sizing

Stole length is a very personal choice – there are not hard-and-fast rules. Please see my About size and color page for information and advice.
Some of my stoles can be made shorter if needed, and I can often re-create a stole in a different length. Send me a convo and I’ll see what I can do!

Liturgical colors

Denominations and churches vary in the colors they use for various liturgical seasons and events; however, please see my About size and color page colors commonly used for various parts of the liturgical year.

If this is a gift, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make sure to check with the recipient or some other source to ensure that you are following the recipient’s tradition.
